I was in Philadelphia walking to an assignment, turned the corner, and there it was. A full grown T-rex.

Now, I know dinosaurs are extinct. But my brain sent a trigger to my legs to run when I saw it. If I was younger, I probably would have actually run a few steps, it was just so lifelike. And no, at first I did not see the gate around its feet.

Some people would say that trigger was a response from when man walked the Earth with dinosaurs and dinosaurs used to eat us. (Please do not write me saying that dinosaurs never walked on Earth at the same time as man - I don’t even want to get into that discussion - I just want to talk about how the things you see can make you want to run away.)

I guess it reminded me of the first time I took my son to one of those dino-digs. There was a section of it where you walked through a tunnel and hear the dinosaurs walking around. At the end of the tunnel was a life-sized T-rex face that growled at you.

My son was about 3 or 4. We were walking down the hallway. When that dinosaur growled my son did not cry, he just let go of my hand, my Mother’s hand, and ran out of there, telling me, “Dad, I do not want to stay in this room.”

Think that if, as adults, we still had that capability to just run away from things that we don’t like, or that scare us. Think of how many meetings you’ve been in that you just want to run out of. No explanation, just get up and run out of the room.

Just think about the fascination that little kids have with dinosaurs. When I was a child, I could name every dinosaur, what it ate, and how big it was. Now I can’t even remember the names of the kids that come over to visit my son.

Okay, everybody, sit and just think - what is your favorite dinosaur? Mine is Dino. You can’t think of favorite dinosaurs without coming up with Dino from The Flintstones. You might say a T-rex, or a Brontosaurus, or a Pterodactyl, but Dino is my favorite dinosaur.

If one night, or one afternoon, you’re sitting around and have nothing to do, I highly recommend you see the movie, “The Jetsons Meet The Flintstones.” It is one of Hanna-Barbera’s best movies. For all my younger clients and friends who do not know who The Jetsons or The Flintstones are, Google it.

In closing, I would like to say I think summer is coming. This was a very hard winter for us, but we got through it. And thank you for all of the comments I got on your tattoo stories - very entertaining! Thank you very much! I love hearing from you guys.
